Want to teach Pilates? Consider training with Senior Instructor and Teacher Trainer Katie Kahumoku at The Workshop!

We work in a close partnership with Atlas Pilates in downtown Seattle, WA under the guidance of Master Instructor and Educational Director, Lori Coleman-Brown. Follow her expertly developed, comprehensive program carefully refined for individuals in annual small groups. Have the flexibility to accumulate your hours with us in Edmonds and still gain the benefits of testing and attending seminars at Atlas in Seattle.

Training takes about a year and involves practical training, classroom time and tutoring. The immersive program is designed to produce Classical Pilates Instructors of the highest caliber, fully prepared to begin teaching professionally once your program is complete.

Our program is a combination of Seminars, Practicum, Academics and Testing. Material is presented logically and progressively, and students can expect to work at least 600 hours including 150 hours of Pilates workouts. Annual admissions are selective, there are prerequisites and a physical assessment required.

Mentorships with Katie

Katie offers several options to learn from her! It’s important to remember that learning from her is through her lens, which has been formed through teaching full time since 2001, and through all of the amazing mentors she has learned from over the last three decades.
  1. Instructors/owners in a tailored, one on one environment with Katie (in our studio or yours). This may be an a la carte option or an ongoing relationship. Reach out to Katie for more information.
  2. Clients of The Workshop wanting to, at minimum, deep dive into the work, but have the training by the end to teach if desired. (This option is reserved to our clients with a minimum of two years of two lessons weekly to apply.) The mentorship will mimic a classic training with seminars, student teaching, testing and a minimum of 600 hours.

Meet up with Katie during her Travels

Katie is available for national and international travel to present both curriculum workshops, as well as topics for which clients and instructors seek her out.

Travel in 2025

  • March 12-17, 2025 in Stuttgart, Germany with Lori Coleman-Brown – Katie is available for lessons while attending.
  • Summer travel will be exploring studios and potential locations for retreats or locations for a second studio abroad. If you’d like a lesson in your studio or workshop, connect to schedule.

Cancellation Policy

Please remember our 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel less than 24 hours prior to your lesson, you will be charged for the lesson. No exceptions, please. You may cancel via text 206-335-0244 or email us at info@theworkshopedmonds.com.
